When will you stop all this hatred?
This nation was created on our land,
To us it’s very sacred.
Our beautiful copper skins have been migrating these lands for thousands of years.
But you refuse to see that,
just look at The Trail of Tears.
We know this land, the animals, all the trees and plant life.
But that doesn’t matter to you,
because our agreements have always ended in strife.
The history of broken treaties keeps being tested.
Black Hills, Bear Ears, Alcatraz Island
are few examples of the molested.
From the Inuits up North,
To the Zunis down South.
From the Siletz in the West,
To the Powhatans in the East.
Since 1492 we have never ceased.
We still continue to ignore the priests.
We’ve seen how they treated our elders,
Those big temple churches,
you lied and stated they’re “safe shelters”.
Our family and friends keep going missing.
Our people and tribes,
remembering them…
reminiscing.
Reminiscing also of this once abundance land.
It was vast and full of life.
But your people continued to take & take.
To us…never to unhand.
Just look at the water.
It’s a piece of Mother Earth;
we’re all a spirit, son, or daughter.
The fish barely healthy enough
to watch them re-birth.
Land back; just return our sovereignty.
We don’t want your colony.
Water is life,
I’ll return to Standing Rock.
I’ll turn around,
await for you to remove the knife.
Dear America,
When will you open your eyes and start to see?
Or take accountability?
Is your heart overflowing with bigotry?
We are people full of wisdom and kindness,
To you we’ve personally shown our land, it’s beauty.
We know that on this land,
there’s enough room for all.
We shared it first,
We never built a wall.
